When Callie gets out near the end of the gravel road that runs through the vineyard, she reaches some kind of canine territorial limit, I think. She doesn't want to go any farther. Maybe it's because there might be cars on the paved road beyond.
When you get to the end of the road, however, if you squat down and call her, she comes running. She seems to know, or has learned, that you aren't going any farther. She gives you a kiss on the cheek or nose before turning tail and heading back toward home, running at full speed.
