Local scenes, and a stained-glass window, from 2006

Above, two views of Blois on a beautiful day in May 2006.

On the left, a stained glass window at Chartres cathedral.

Below, the waters of the Cher River flowing near Saint-Aignan, and a field of poppies (coquelicots) near Blois.

  1. Do we even have poppies in the U.S.?

    1. Several years ago I saw “coquelicots” in Virginia, but not as plenty as in France.

  2. Yes U.S. has many poppies! The California yellow-orange grow wild and this year in particular are covering the hills (only from pictures I haven't been there this year!) after all the rain. Easy to grow, they need at least 6 hours of sunshine! They are so delicate and beautiful.
