Angles-sur-l'Anglin views (3)

Continuing my series on Angles-sur-l'Anglin street and house views... Over the weekend, I found a big batch of photos that I took there in November 2004 — including these. I realized this morning that I probably first learned of the existence of Angles from reading about it in the Cadogan Loire guidebook. I had never been there before that 2004 excursion. We'd been living in Saint-Aignan for about 18 months at that point.

That last picture, above right, shows Walt and our dog Collette walking down
from the ruins of the château back to our car.

  1. I have spent many a happy minute, perusing guidebooks about France :) I haven't looked at one in a while, but now I get to visit France through your blog, instead! :)
I'm glad (of course) that the voting turned out as it did yesterday, in France. It reminded me of the last time that Le Pen (father) got that far in the voting... by the second Sunday of voting, then, too, the ultra conservatives didn't really get any more than they had the first time, and everyone rallied to come out to vote against them. My quick research reminds me that was in 2002, and Chirac won against him.

(Betty Ann, thanks for your comment to my, yesterday, clarifiying Sacramento weather!)

    1. Yes, I remember that 2002 election. This time, it will be interesting to see who will be prime minister because once again no party has an absolute majority in the Assemblée nationale.

  2. Very attractive facade lower left, with those blue green shutters and that cascade of geraniums.
