Mesmerized

I remember feeling mesmerized as I took photos at Atlantic Beach, N.C., on a bright and sunny November day seven years ago. For "mesmerized" the English-French dictionary gives at least three French terms: hypnotisé, magnétisé, and fasciné. And it gives this example: je ne pouvais pas détourner mon regard, along with j'étais comme hypnotisé — It was as if I was hypnotized.

P.S. We got close to an inch of rain yesterday morning, in half an hour's time. Despite some minor flooding in the utility room downstairs, I was happy. We need the rain, and more of it, badly.
