Rain and cooler temperatures expected in the coming week. Considering the recommended lower temperature for heating, we are happy we haven't needed heat, and our gas consumption for October will be lower than anticipated. I wonder what the rest of Fall and Winter will be like.
I'm like you. I'm happy we haven't to make fires in the wood-burning stove or let the central heat come one. We keep our thermostat at 18.5 during the winter. I've seen on the weather reports that temps will be going down gradually for the next week or so. We heat with fioul. And wood.
It is good to have that place under the balcony on the north side of the house where we can stack firewood. Rain here usually comes from the southwest, so the wood on the north side hardly gets wet at all.

DeleteBeautiful sunrise photo :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful sunrise. It was still pretty dark when I took the picture, and the photo was dark. I had to lighten it up quite a bit in Photoshop.
DeleteYou have a nice covered place to stack your wood. It's good that you have your fuel supply ready when the time comes.
