I am enjoying the visit. Yesterday the weather was beautiful and MA, Joanna, and I had lunch at the Dock House restaurant in Beaufort, outdoors, right on the boardwalk along the waterfront. Today there's a memorial service (wake) for my aunt Ann, who died back in June. I'm working on setting up a new computer for MA, to replace the one first Joanna and then MA have been using for nearly 10 years now. MA and Jo send their best greetings.
I'm glad you are able to be with your family for your Aunt Ann's service. I hope the weather holds out for it. Good luck with your computer set up! Hi to MA and Joanna ;-)
So I have no croissants but some little bitty cinnamon rolls. I will have to settle for one of those .. even though I would rather be in France with un cafe and et un croissant
I was really good that my cousin -- my aunt's daughter -- was able to schedule the "wake" so that I'd be able to be here. It was really just an open house with a lot of photos of my aunt and the rest of the family posted all around the room. Fifty or sixty people must have come through over the course of the afternoon. We all shared stories and memories of Ann, the old neighborhood, and the olden days. We really enjoyed ourselves. We weren't sad -- it was more of a celebration of my aunt's life than a formal memorial service. I was so glad to be here.
Visual pleasure only, surely...
ReplyDeletethey'll be a tad stale by now!
Just keep the thought in your head that they bake more, fresh, daily.
ReplyDeletestunning! i'm making biscuits this morning. :-)
ReplyDeleteI bet they were good biscuits.
DeleteI have one almond croissant (your recipe) in my freezer that will be good with my morning coffee. I hope you are enjoying your visit.

DeleteOh, Ken, how good that you are there for your aunt's memorial service. I wondered if your visit might be related to that in some way.
ReplyDeleteOh, and, p.s.-- Those are the best-looking croissants EVER :)
