This a Japanese Quince tree (Chaenomeles japonica). I recently posted a photo of it as it looked a few days ago. The photos above are some that I took of the same plant on March 12, 2014. Yes, 2014...
I've never touched this plant. It's in our Blois neighbors' yard, so it's not ours. They don't come to stay in Saint-Aignan frequently at this time of year.
So beautiful! What a treat for us to see :) This pollen and the allergic reactions it causes, are no joke, right? Fortunately for me, it's not an issue of itchy eyes (which drive me CRAZY when they happen because of other allergens), but I've got nose and cough symptoms that are clearly allergy related, and they get on my nerves!
We have one of these too. Very prickly.
ReplyDeletePrickly but lovely to look at. I hope your allergy attack goes away soon. The yellow pine pollen has arrived here.

DeleteThe color of the blossoms is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think so too.
