The five or six photos I took just before taking the market pictures were of the église du Dôme des Invalides and the Pasteur monument on the Place de Breteuil. I was obviously in your neighborhood. After the market, I took photos of the métro aérien that runs near your apartment.
The "red" lettuce to me has no different taste compared to the green lettuce. Walt agrees with me. But the red lettuce is pretty.
What great colors...the bright green bib lettuce, those shiny eggplants, shocking red tomatoes. It's farm to market paradise.
ReplyDeleteThe French have a way with market displays.
DeleteThis market doesn’t seem to be the one at Saxe-Breteuil. It is very nice, though, for the variety of colors and hues.
ReplyDeleteI’m wondering if the brownish laitue tastes different from the greenish one!

The sequence doesn’t lie!
DeleteWhat made you think it was some other market, not Saxe-Breteuil?
DeleteIt didn’t look like what I remembered. It was so many years ago!
DeleteI took the pictures in this post and the ones in a post a couple of days ago in July 2000, when you, Frank, Jeanine, and Walt were also in Paris.
DeleteI bet the watermelon is delicious.
ReplyDeleteAnd those pineapples.
DeleteParis markets are always a wonderful experience. It’s been much too long!
ReplyDeleteWhen the weather is nice, spending time walking through an open-air market is a great way to spend an hour, whether you plan to buy anything or not.
DeleteOooh, I love the market photos :)
ReplyDeleteOh, those beautiful early-spring radishes!
ReplyDeleteWe really enjoy those radishes, with just some good bread, butter, and a little salt.
DeleteYes, I like them that way too! And red and green lettuce may not taste different but they sure look attractive mixed together in the bowl.
