Just a few more photos that I took last Tuesday. This is Chambord as it looked a few days ago.
There's obviously work being done. We didn't have time to go inside. I'm not sure it was open anyway.

That roofscape is amazing, especially the central tower, which is like a crown.
ReplyDeleteDitto what Diogenes says. Superbes photos! Imteresting skies.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there were so many slate inserts in different shapes.
ReplyDeleteYes, the inserts are almost something I'd expect to see more on an Italian building. And look at the scale of the people on the balcony in the last photo!
DeleteWe want to go there, need to go there
ReplyDeleteAmazing rooftops! When I was there, I couldn’t stop taking pictures of them.
ReplyDeleteCute car. Is it a CV2?
ReplyDeleteThe car is called a Deux Chevaux, also written as 2 CV. It's a Citroën car and production in Frane was stopped in the late 1980s.
ReplyDeleteWonderful memories of our visit!
ReplyDeleteYou've captured details on the roof that I was unaware! Merci! I would hate to work on that roof, even with that scaffolding! Such details! Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThe roofline is like icing on a cake. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd that Deux Cheveaux, oh my! Although I suspect that they are likely not all that comfortable to ride in.
They are more comfortable than you might think because they have a very soft suspension (as do all Citroëns).
