Montpoupon : intérieurs [1]
In 2012 we went into the château de Montpoupon to see some of the furnished rooms. They're mainly 19th century, as far as I know. The family that lived there then was named de la Motte Saint-Pierre. Their parents or grand-parents had bought the château in the 1850s. Montpoupon is on the territory of the French village (commune) called Céré-la-Ronde.

ReplyDeleteNot sure what you mean? Staged, maybe? But of course it would be, as in all the châteaux.
DeleteStaged is a good word, especially when talking about les Carrés Hermès.
DeleteAs you two point out, yes seems staged. Except the first photo with the salon suite, the chairs and canape have a good bit of wear on the seats, so maybe that room is used. The painted beams are very attractive, imo.
DeleteIIRC, right smack in the middle of the village of Céré-la-Ronde, there is a lovely 15th century manor house. A British woman used to live there; I wonder if she still does?
ReplyDeleteI met and talked to her in, I think, 2006. Sue and I were touring around together. Friends of ours from Arizona met the same woman a few years later and she invited them into her house. They said it was fascinating. I feel sure she has died since then.
