The only statue I recognize is photos #2 and #3, It is a copy of a Roman marblelo statue of Diane chasseresse which is in the Louvre. Shouldn't #5 have a bra?,
Exquisite, every one of them. I worry about the deterioration of the first statue. I wonder if there’s any way to protect an outdoor statue to prevent further damage from the elements.
These are really great Ken...especially like the cupid (I assume) inside.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you D.

ReplyDeleteOf course, it is marble. Sorry. When you type on a tablet lying in bed, strange and funny things happen!
DeleteChm, LOLOL. The next to the last is Cleopatra from a sculpture by Canova.
ReplyDeleteLes grands esprits... Great minds... I was going to Google statue by Canova at Valençay. Thank you for telling us it is Cleopatra and by Canova.
Delete#5 is probably Vènus au bain. That's why she doesn't wear a bra. QED
ReplyDeleteWell I suppose that 'Cupid' should be wearing a pair of pants then - English for underwear.
ReplyDeleteCupid is my favorite also. Everyone has curly hair.
