Médavy — the towers

But first, news from Walt. He just sent me an e-mail saying he had arrived at the house in Las Vegas where his cousins live. He'll be spending a week there with them. He said the trip was "an adventure" but I don't know details yet. I'm relieved and happy to know that he got there safe and sound, and on time.

A few minutes ago I found a web site about what has become of the château de Médavy since Charles-Henry and I went there in 2001. It got new owners a decade or more ago and has been undergoing restoration work for years. The web site has a lot of photos on it, and a long article about the history of the château.

I'm cooking today (a pot au feu of veal and root vegetables) after two days of eating (delicious) leftovers out of the refrigerator. I've had four good walks with Tasha since Walt left, and walk #5 will start in about an hour, when the sun comes up. After a few days of beautiful sunshine, it's raining this morning. I'll have to watch out for hunters — 'tis the season.

  1. I bet that delicious pot au feu will make for some tasty leftovers for a few days, now. Yumm.
I hate that you have to watch out for hunters.
I'm glad to know that Walt is safely arrived! I'm off to look at the website you linked to.

  2. Pot au feu is my favorite. Nice video at the chateau web site about its restoration. They've done quite a bit.
