The first course was a mound of flaked salmon tartare surrounded by a circle of thin-sliced raw scallops.
The main course was a grilled pike-perch, or sandre, which is a local fresh-water fish.
Here are CHM and Walt leaving the restaurant. We were about to have a car adventure, but didn't yet know it. The weather was unnaturally hot that day. More tomorrow...
the location of the restaurant is perfect
ReplyDeleteSalmon and scallops...and Zander... I am drooling all over the keyboard!!
ReplyDeleteSlight pause...
Car event is intriguing.
ReplyDeleteOh now I am waiting to hear about car adventures !
ReplyDeleteWe've been treated to photos in the past from this lovely restaurant, right? What a treat!
ReplyDeleteCar adventure... uh oh.
I remember that CHM enjoys a warm day. The restaurant has a lovely setting.
ReplyDeleteLol, Evelyn. I was the only one at the K & W's residence not complaining about the heat!
DeleteE., it was 95 on the terrace and 93 in the house. CHM was dressed in a thermal (Damart) undershirt, a corduroy shirt, long pants, and a sweatshirt (which he might have shed during the very hottest part of the day). Not to mention shoes and socks. Walt and I were barefooted and in shorts and T-shirts. Today it's cooler but still in the 80s indoors and out. And humid.
DeleteKen, re-LOL!
DeleteGlad to hear the weather is nice for CHM! It is really miserable here and too hot for our new little granddaughter to go on walks.
DeleteI was wondering if you were going to go to Relais d'Artemis. Thank you for posting these pictures Ken; it's nice to see chm. It's been a while. And Walt's starter looks very tasty.
ReplyDelete93 in the house? That's toasty. It reminds me of someone I knew in AZ who left her thermostat at 90 in the summer to keep her electric bills down.
We aren't worried about electric bills. We just don't have AC in the house and would need it so seldom that it's not worth the trouble of figuring out how to retrofit the house for it. The climate here is sort of like the climate in San Francisco. We get 5 or 6 hot days per year. The rest of the year, it's sometimes warm but mostly chilly -- by Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, or Washington DC standards.
DeleteJust checked. Our high temperature tomorrow will be 22C -- 72F. That will feel chilly.
DeleteFrank and I left the thermostat at 80 all year round at Salton City, because we liked it that way. The last item I will save money on is heating!
DeleteI will be destitute paying my electric bill but I have to have air conditioning here .. in Hot and Humidville .. USA.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have much choice in Florida.
