I've spent a lot of the summer sleeping on this sofa in our living room. I mean sleeping overnight, not just napping. It's too hot to sleep upstairs in the loft, where we have a king-size bed and where we sleep when the weather isn't so hot. The living room sofa is comfortable, and behind and above it is a big north-facing window I can open to let in some fresh, cool air overnight and early in the morning.
The high temperature in Saint-Aignan today is forecast to be 104ºF (that's 40º C.). The bad news is that the weatherman on TéléMatin says today that we're going to have another 7 to 10 days of extreme heat before the heat wave breaks up and temperatures start to fall.

Thinking of you three!
ReplyDelete104 and another 7 to 10 days! I hope they are wrong. Is this a hotter summer than the canicule of 2003?
ReplyDeleteWhat to say? Those temps can't last forever...I hope. Ice baths? Popsicles all day long? Cold wash cloths on your heads? Wow! At least you aren't dealing with fires. I was reading where they are in France after searching Spain, as one of my daughter's friends has moved to northwest Spain and not her city, but in the area is one of the hot spots. Keep hydrated, which I am sure you, three, are doing.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe my above comment was accepted. I tried to write a comment after your last submission, but your site wouldn't accept it! Maybe the heat is the problem (no - I don't believe that!).
