We were finally able to sleep upstairs in the loft last night. It was warm up there, but it wasn't an oven the way it had been for a week or more. Now I'm shivering because it feels cold in the house.
After seven days of high temps over 98º, this morning it's below 70º outside and in the greenhouse. It's still close to 80º up in the loft. The sun is still shining and Accuweather predicts highs between 86º and 93º for the next seven days. That's still hot in my book.
https://www.noahpinion.blog/?utm_source=navbar&utm_medium=web It’s going to be in 90’s all week here in OKC, and that means (unfortunately) air conditioning.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your post and the linked articles. The only time Walt and I have had AC at home was in Washington DC forty years ago. I hated it. When I was growing up in North Carolina, we didn't have it (but my mother had it put in in the 1970s. In other places where I've lived — Champaign IL, San Francisco and Silicon Valley in California, Rouen and Paris in France — I never needed it. I worry that AC pollutes too much and running it contributes mightily to global warming.
DeleteGlad things have cooled down a bit for you Ken!
ReplyDeleteSo happy it’s cooled down a little.

Thanks, BettyAnn. I hope you are doing well.
DeleteCrazy about being cold! I actually turned the heat on yesterday afternoon, because I was cold! So happy for you guys and sorry for the eastern part of Europe that are getting your heat now.
ReplyDeleteThere's talk on French news shows this morning about another heat wave starting here next weekend. If that happens, that will be three hot spells in less than two months.
DeleteGood to know!
ReplyDeleteI hate the noise of a/c, too! Extra energy cost when there are other ways to avoid the heat.
ReplyDeleteI remember life in Washington DC in the early 1980s.. Our flat was air-conditioned, and we ran the AC for six months a year.. It was dark and chilly in our apartment, and going outside was like stepping into a sauna. I hated the darkness and the humidity.
DeleteThis summer will be one for the record books. Take care and enjoy the good days ahead.
