I really would like to get local Chardonnay but as I said most of it seems to go into sparkling wines nowadays.<br /><br />There's a vigneron up in Valaire, near Ouchamps and Monthou-sur-Bièvre, Blois area — a Frenchman married to an Englishwoman — who used to have Chardonnay in BIBs, but I haven't been up there in a while. It's the Domaine du Prieuré; I just looked it up. Not oaked, not what you would call characterful, but very nice as a pre-dinner drink on these hot evenings.
