You've written quite eloquently about him, and thanks to the pointer to Walt's "Merci, Jean-Luc" video.ginnynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-10087047980298694062009-10-30T00:15:28.532+01:002009-10-30T00:15:28.532+01:00Thanks for the post Ken, makes you think about all...Thanks for the post Ken, makes you think about all sorts of things. Whenever anyone talks about a funeral I remember my Dad, standing over a grave in his robes and ground length cloak, talking gently about whoever as if they were a life long friend, giving comfort and hope to those left behind. He really was good at the celebration of a life and would be turning in his grave if he thought he ever left out a "significant other" no matter what he thought the Church's official opinion was of the relationship. After all funerals are for those left alive and men are mortals, respecting that is an essential part of life.

There again, as Dad would have said, its important to get the coffin in the right hole and that can be a little distracting on occasion....

NickNickLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10597310462094749435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-56196810555529194692009-10-29T20:15:45.470+01:002009-10-29T20:15:45.470+01:00You are such a good writer Ken.

I met Jean-Luc only twice, and I remember him as such a nice and pleasant person.chmnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-18920947627112152792009-10-29T19:11:01.045+01:002009-10-29T19:11:01.045+01:00Thanks for your clear description of the day, I co...Thanks for your clear description of the day, I could almost have been there with you.
What a shame the priest committed such an error in snubbing your friend S. That is almost unforgiveable as people will read all kinds of silly motives in it.

It was great that you were there at the funeral and afterwards to support S and her cousins.
