Things must of really changed!

There is a winery in Newport on the Lake Road that had a booth at the Mullet Festival in Swansboro last year. I picked up a bottle of their Chardonnay and for a NC wine it wasn't too bad to my unsophisticated taste buds, unlike all those wines from Duplin County that use the muscadine grapes. Yuk! I paid $15.00 for that bottle.

What I do remember the most about living in Newport was the Shriners or Masons, can't remember which, had pork BBQ fundraisers. Theirs was without a doubt the best BBQ I think I have ever eaten.

I'm glad you've had some nice weather while you been visiting!Galestormhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09561727439124466050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-14834370951028545462015-03-18T21:09:49.403+01:002015-03-18T21:09:49.403+01:00I saw the article about Richelieu because the '...I saw the article about Richelieu because the 'Abbé Proust' linked to it on his blog.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06472449597146519943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-4067462231442862882015-03-18T16:15:08.899+01:002015-03-18T16:15:08.899+01:00Interesting about the wine store :) You'd thin...Interesting about the wine store :) You'd think, wouldn't you, that someone selling wine in his own shop would have a little more knowledge than that.
Hope you're enjoying your trip!Seine Judeet (Judith)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07407353544376132484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-27743179562257034892015-03-18T14:13:40.421+01:002015-03-18T14:13:40.421+01:00No, I didn't buy any wine. I really don't think the man who runs the wine bar/shop is going to be able to make a go of it. I can't imagine where his customers will come from. People here don't know much about wines.Ken Broadhursthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04430899802705818716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-37657584192822095822015-03-18T09:32:05.406+01:002015-03-18T09:32:05.406+01:00Your PS, Ken...
