A...Just getting round to reading you late at night. Ablways a good read, reading you. I'm glad all is returning to normal. You are very lucky to have your roof repaired so soon. After the storm in '99, we had blue plastic sheets in place until 2001! Other storms would blow them off and the roofer would come and put new sheets in place, but didn't have enough tiles as our roof needed to be completely retiled rather than just patched up. Oh well. As Susan said, many happy returns. And as Starman said, that shrimp and rice dish looked delicious.Ellen Lebellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01929639076042070115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-66791222478838967732010-03-05T23:20:45.436+01:002010-03-05T23:20:45.436+01:00I'm glad everything is back to normal for you ...I'm glad everything is back to normal for you guys. More power to you ...You survived and even thrived. More power to you (sorry)!

Once we were without electricity for 6 days in a snowstorm, and the worst part was not being able to flush the toilet. We had wood heat, a gas stove, several dozen jugs of water in the basement, and plenty to eat so we were okay. But the days were short and in the evenings we went slowly nuts singing songs and making shadow pictures by candlelight.Carolynnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-90795003897233701632010-03-05T14:21:09.230+01:002010-03-05T14:21:09.230+01:00HBDTY,

A cherry tree will be nice since I remember that there was at least one nice plum tree growing near the vineyards (we couldn't get enough of those plums.)

Hardships like no power are no fun.
