My 1980-vintage pronunciation dictionary says that in the expression le mois d'août the final T is not pronounced [luh-mwah-doo] but in en août it is pronounced [ä-noot]. As Judy says, it's a little like off-un vs. off-tun in American English. I remember hearing people pronounce the word as [ah-oo] or [ah-oot], in two syllables, back in the 1970s.Ken Broadhursthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04430899802705818716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-32121865746060621782016-08-01T15:53:09.284+02:002016-08-01T15:53:09.284+02:00Beautiful hydrangeas... you guys always have succe...Beautiful hydrangeas... you guys always have success with what you grow!
Regarding the artichokes... so, you didn't harvest any? There is a popular song Au trente-et-un du mois d'août where the pronunciation is closer to the Scottish one, but I have no idea what said pronunciation is really like !chmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17765675930520613520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-80273119301874429352016-08-01T14:27:27.695+02:002016-08-01T14:27:27.695+02:00Get aout of here lol!
