They used to be EDF, itself, but with the introduction of competitive electricity suppliers, they had to break EDF into several units and this one is the reseau (network).<br />I think we Americans are so unused to actual pre-catastrophe maintenance we are stunned when it occurs. In most urban areas, electricity runs underground, but in rural areas, where there are still lines, they try to keep trees at bay.
