It was better to use my time in the garden. Meanwhile, I did buy some special radiator paint. It's acrylic, so cleans up with water, which I like. I'll post about it when I get back to the project.Ken Broadhursthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04430899802705818716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-50917002284808976892012-08-04T03:02:03.931+02:002012-08-04T03:02:03.931+02:00This is exactly what I Iam planning on doing in th...This is exactly what I Iam planning on doing in the few weeks of real summer that we have here in Halifax, Canada. How did it work out in the end? I am thinking of using silver metallic spray paint - I asked at two different hardware stores and they said you don't need high heat paint, hot water rads don't apparently get hot enough to need that. A good thing since I cannot find high heat metallic paint. Hoping it works! Any advice would be welcome, taking them off the wall is not an option as they are too big and unwieldy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-74906400297541956642012-07-15T06:51:28.683+02:002012-07-15T06:51:28.683+02:00Thanks Keir. There was one in the bathroom that we took off the wall, didn't bother to drain the whole system, and then put it back in place without a problem. We painted two others in situ, but our radiators are flatter than yours, so it was easy with just a flat brush, and an angled brush. Our painter did several radiators downstairs and used a paint gun to spray the radiators. He used cardboard to protect the baseboards. Sorry you didn't mention this at dinner the other night, we could have inspected the work and determined if our technique was up to standard.Keirnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-60681610849812277092012-07-14T21:37:37.255+02:002012-07-14T21:37:37.255+02:00We had radiators in Cincinnati- most of them had c...We had radiators in Cincinnati- most of them had covers on them which were nice to sit on in the winter.<br />I think your housekeeping skills are in the 99th percentile.
