This time the gas has climbed so quickly my guess is that there will be more people choosing two-wheeled transportation.Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04911284607089608538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-87087179893368888732011-04-20T22:21:52.917+02:002011-04-20T22:21:52.917+02:00$11.00 per gallon? Yesterday, Walt was over at the garden equipement dealer's store and the owner was talking with a man who was obviously a grape-grower. They were saying how far in advance all the vegetation is at this point.

"The way things are looking, I'll be harvesting my grapes around Bastille Day," he said. Bastille Day is July 14. Usually, the grape harvest happens in late September.

Who knows? We might have a cool damp summer, or we might have another great heatwave, as in 1949, 1976, or 2003.

Beav, I don't know who is causing the current rise in oil prices, but it does seem obvious that, long term, oil prices can only go up.ckbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15667570157826940501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-65469510959192079522011-04-20T21:19:07.738+02:002011-04-20T21:19:07.738+02:00At first I thought that little blue flower was Mou...At first I thought that little blue flower was Mouron bleu (Anagallis arvensis) first cousin to Mouron rouge. But your flower has only four petals whereas Mouron bleu — as well as Mouron rouge — has five. Otherwise they look very much alike; they're so small!

I think the first T of total should be capitalized.chmnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-75672427583036091892011-04-20T17:57:23.467+02:002011-04-20T17:57:23.467+02:00Reports say we're headed for $5 a gallon in th...Reports say we're headed for $5 a gallon in the southwest.

Does the dry sunny weather make for a good wine year?Diogenesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18071407.post-68342830140391529262011-04-20T16:15:48.588+02:002011-04-20T16:15:48.588+02:00That's what bothers me - there is no shortage ...That's what bothers me - there is no shortage of crude oil on the market except that refineries, speculators, wholesalers and lastly retailers are making money on what is happening in North Africa and the ME.
http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/04/19/markets-energy-nymex-idUSN1923231720110419The Beavernoreply@blogger.com
