Wild and hot

Natasha is just wild this morning. Who knows why? But her ear-piercing, shrill, yappy bark just won't stop. We have house guests, too, and I'm sure they are having a hard time sleeping with all the noise (it's just 6 a.m. as I write this). We're all tired, because afternoon temperatures have been around 35ºC, 95ºF, for the last two days.

Anyway, I went to Chambord last Saturday, the day Callie was suddenly disabled. Judy (Seine Judeet) and her sister and brother-in-law were here. I wanted to go to Chambord with them to see the new gardens that have been planted on the north side of the château.

Judy left town on Sunday, headed for Bayeux, Chartres, and Paris. Callie died on Monday, and Peter and Jill arrived on Tuesday at noon. Remember, we don't have air-conditioning here, because we don't normally need it. So these few days have been pretty uncomfortable. We've spent a lot of our time sitting out on the front terrace in the shade, and at some points there has been a light breeze. We've done minimal touring around, but we have enjoyed good food.

At Chambord, I took pictures of the building, the new gardens, and some of the tapestries that are on display. Here are three, and I'll probably post more over the next few days.

  1. I like the picture through the old glass at Chambord. Hope your temperatures drop to something more reasonable. Seeing the Palm Springs temperature at 121 F the other day made me think of chm and his desert abode.

    1. Hi D.
I'm enjoying desert-like temperatures here in Paris! Best to you both.

    2. CHM, you really are a crazy man to enjoy such heat. You'll enjoy hell, I think.

    3. Since I'm going to hell anyway, I'd better be well prepared, defeating the whole purpose of its creation in the first place !

    4. It's nice to know someone who is looking forward to hell...lol. I'm glad you are enjoying Paris during the heatwave, CHM. We've nothing but rain here and our daughter is renovating her house and it has no roof now- what a mess.

    6. Hello, I am Theresa Williams After being in relationship with Anderson for years, he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to my friend and she suggested that I should rather contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back but I am the type that never believed in spell, I had no choice than to try it, I mailed the spell caster, and he told me there was no problem that everything will be okay before three days, that my ex will return to me before three days, he cast the spell and surprisingly in the second day, it was around 4 pm. My ex called me, I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that happened that he wanted me to return to him, that he loves me so much. I was so happy and went to him that was how we started living together happily again. Since then, I have made promise that anybody I know that have a relationship problem, I would be of help to such person by referring him or her to the only real and powerful spell caster who helped me with my own problem. email: drogunduspellcaster@gmail.com you can email him if you need his assistance in your relationship or any other Case.

  2. Great photo through the old glass! I hope Tasha settles down. Maybe it's the heat, maybe she's barking for Callie. xoxo

  3. P.S.--It's really hot here, too. Right now at almost 10 p.m., it's 80 degrees in the house with windows open and fans blowing. Hope it breaks for both of our sakes.

    1. Ginny, I talked to our friend Sue who lives in Auburn. She said it was over 100 there, and 107 in Sac'to the other day. I thought it might have cooled down by now, but I guess not.

Tasha was very quiet overnight, but when I got up at 4:30 to open up the house and get some cool air in here, she was ready to romp! Bertie came in and promptly begged to be let back out because Tasha was jumping all over him and biting his tail and ears. When Walt got up, he went out in the back yard with Tasha and they played with the tennis ball. Then I took Tasha out for a longer walk in the vineyard than she has ever taken before. She actually ran a full speed most of the time. I think she might have been subdued over the past few days because she was missing her playmate, Callie, and now she trying to expend some of that pent-up energy.

  4. The restored gardens are really magnificent. It was well worth the effort. This Beauvais (?) tapestry is superb.

To my delight, it has been hot in Paris also.

  5. It is hot here in SoCal, but in Phoenix they are cancelling flights. Too hot to fly. No air to give them lift.

So sorry to hear about your Callie. She probably would have calmed your new puppy and trained her to behave since Callie was so well behaved.

  7. Thanks for the lovely picture of the new Chambord garden. Very interesting information for us as we didn't know it was there. I wonder if they have built it where the lake formed in the flooding last year?

We hope to go there and see for ourselves as soon as this heat dies down a bit.

The River Cher is very much lower this year and there is a new sandbank between our pitch on the riverbank and the water. We think the sandbank has grown in the week+ that we have been here. gorgeous views and full of birdsong.

  9. Florida is not very hot. It is actually perfect right now- but perfect, especially in weather, never lasts. I am planning on my return to the not so perfect but really perfect state of NY .. I miss whining about snow.
