Grisaille

This different season we seem to have entered into inspired me to go out and take some black and white photos in the vineyard yesterday morning. At 7:45 a.m. there wasn't really enough light to take pictures without a flash, but I tried it anyway.

The weather is as gray as these images. Callie, however, seems to be happier on our walks than she was when it was so hot a couple of weeks ago. She finds plenty of things to sniff at out there.

The grapes are still hanging around out there. No sign yet of harvesters or tractors or crews of workers.

I don't think it's supposed to rain much tomorrow and maybe the sun will decide to put in an appearance.

    1. Je crois que l'arbre en question est un peuplier.

  2. People say that dogs see their environment in black and white. Fortunately for them, they don't know what they miss.

    1. Yes, but dogs probably pity us because of our feeble sense of smell.

    2. Personally, I don't mind my feeble sense of smell, especially on a hot afternoon at rush hour in the subway!

    3. When is the last time you took the subway at rush hour? LOL.

  3. Bleak looking photos, amazing how much difference the lack of color makes. I am ok with my sense of smell. That and my hearing are still very sharp. My husband used to tease me .. something about hound dogs etc :)

    1. It's been kind of dreary here for a few days now, so the photos reflect reality.

    3. I know that's true. Same on the N.C. coast, though you might find dreary days in the dead of winter.
