  3. There's something touching and poignant about the British naval officer buried standing in salute to HM GeoIII. Wonder if it was prior to 1776.

    1. Even though one source says the British soldier was buried "ca. 1700", George III reigned from 1760 to 1820. He was preceded by George II and George I. Either the burial date is a lot later than 1700 or the wrong king is mentioned on the plaque.
