Scenes of the season

It rained all night. It's not very cold, though. I decided to put the heat back on this morning,
just to take the chill off, after not having turned the boiler on for a couple of days.

 Birds are flying south.

We do get some fall colors here in Saint-Aignan, and even in our yard.

Walt mowed the yard last week, so it looks good now. We haven't cleaned up the garden yet, but I planted some winter greens under that cold frame you see in the photo.

There are still potted plants to be brought in, and a lot of the golden leaves are falling heavily every day.

It's nearly time for me to go out for the morning walk with the dog along this gravel road through the vineyard.

  1. Colours are lovely. The garden in autumn (fall) is a great time as is spring.

    1. Autumn is about our favorite time of year. Except the raking of the falling leaves...

  4. Funny how similar it is to where I live. NY State Farm country :)

    1. Walt comes from the Albany area. I think that's a beautiful place too.

    2. Yes, I must admit it is quite beautiful, especially since I live on a road with a few houses and a huge farm of sheep and Highland cattle and one horse :) There is rain today so the colors stand out nicely. I would just rather be There than Here :)

  5. Such wonderful views :) You two take great care of your yard and your home. We're having a rather dreary, grey, rainy couple of autumn days today and yesterday, so it's nice to have these to look at.

  6. This is a beautiful time of year, though we are having heavy rain today, the far edge of the latest Hurricane. Our fall has been glorious but it will not last too much longer. Your photos are lovely.

  8. Yes, it's nice to see the fall colors, especially your second pic. We don't get too much of that around here. We were in the 90s as recently as last week.
