Cherries are ripening

Our weather hasn't been great in May, with just a few warm days. We've had to turn the heat back on some mornings, so chilly it got. I'm almost surprised to see cherries ripening already.

The sky looked threatening all day yesterday but we never had more than a few minutes of light drizzle. You couldn't call it rain. Neither one of us got wet on our walk with Callie.

The weather report I just saw on Télématin said to expect rain today. We'll see. Yesterday we spent some time sitting out on the front terrace with Bertie the cat.

  1. Apologies for the change in the weather, Ken....
    mea culpa!
I started putting out the garden seat for the summer....
the first being the bench outside the back door...
the one positioned so that I can bask in the morning sun...
    with a cuppa!
That's when it got cold and cloudy!

    1. Thanks for fessin' up, Tim. Now that I know it was your doing, I don't have to blame Walt for setting the first plants out in the garden yesterday morning.

    1. It is not even sunny here, and it is certainly not hot. Not quite cold, but temperate, I'd say. Chilly.

    2. Bonjour

After having 0 celsius last Thursday night and single digits on Friday , we are expecting 30C today . Hoping to put the tomato plants and the hot peppers today. It poured yesterday also . Hopefully our hot days will travel to you soon. The gulf stream is playing havocs with us.

  5. When I see Tourine cherries, I always think of our 2009 vacantion, when C. and I visited Susan & Simon for the very first time. They didn't know what to do with their abundant cherry crop and then we went out to this restaurant together were we got ... even more cherries for dessert. Fabulous memories :)

  6. HI We are also having a cold weather spell again .. Not much sun yet. This is the second Cherry post I have just read , not cherry season here . We most probably import ours anyway. Enjoy when they ripen :-)
